Portland Preservation Alliance

Honor Our Past, Build Our Future

The community organization Portland Preservation Alliance, PPA, formed to address issues such as protection, restoration, and sensitive, smart renovations. The group serves to find and bring together residents interested in preserving Portland’s heritage and architecture. PPA strives to find active ways to carry out this mission through education (field trips, workshops, talks) and hopefully future legislation to protect buildings in the neighborhood.

All around us we see beautiful structures demolished or poorly renovated by people and businesses that aren’t thinking about Portland’s future. The heritage of Portland is the key to a brighter future and the time to act is now. PPA must be a watchdog, an educational resource, and most importantly a voice for this future.

Call Mary Turner at Portland Museum at 776-7678 for information.
PPA is supported in part by Metro Government and the Community Foundation of Louisville.

Announcing First Annual PPA Awards Ceremony on May 16th at 5:00pm! [more info]
